DIODE LASER HAIR REDUCTION
TREATMENT INFORMATION
The 800nm diode laser wavelength offers the deepest penetration levels and superior melanin absorption. These unique characteristics make the diode laser the most suitable technology for laser hair removal, enabling safe and effective treatment of all skin and hair types, in all body areas.
Diode lasers target specific chromophores in the skin. ChillTip spot size of 9x9mm designed to treat small areas that require maximum precision and higher fluence. Light energy with a specific wavelength is absorbed by the chromosphere melanin, resulting in the rapid heating and subsequent local thermal death of the follicles
TREATMENT FREQUENCY
The number of sessions depends on the area of the body being treated. Notably, upper parts like the face and underarms require around 8 to 10 sessions done every 4 weeks to achieve desired results compared to 6 to 8 sessions for the bikini line and legs. After which, 2 or more touch-up treatments every year maybe needed.
Hair grows in a three-phase cycle, but it is only in the active growth (anagen) phase that the hair contains enough pigment (melanin) to absorb enough light energy to leave the hair follicle damaged. During the dormant phase, hair has little or no pigment, and so it cannot absorb enough laser light. LightSheer effectively disables all of the hair follicles that have actively growing hair. When it is time for the next treatment, usually a few weeks after the previous one, some of the dormant hairs will have transitioned into the active growth stage, and LightSheer will disable those. Following each treatment, the amount of hair in the treated area will be reduced.

How to Prepare for a LightSheer Diode Laser
● Avoiding UV Light Exposure
● Refrain from using tanning beds for at least 4 to 8 weeks before you begin your series of treatments.
● Avoid other forms of hair removal treatments (including tweezing, waxing, bleaching or threading) for at least 4 to 8 weeks.
● Avoid topical skin lotions on the day of treatment.
● Shave the area the night before treatment. We do not shave at the clinic due to health reasons and will have to cancel your booking should you come not fresh shaven.
What to Expect After a LightSheer Diode Laser Appointment
After your appointment, you may notice raised hair follicles in and around the treated area. If there is any discomfort, you may use a cold compress. You may see that your hair may appear to grow after the treatment, but they are, in fact, dead and falling out of their follicles. This sensation can last up to three weeks.
For those hair follicles that are still standing after your treatment, a maintenance program will be required. If the hair follicle is not destroyed, the sleeping phase is significantly prolonged, the growth cycles are synchronized, and the hair shafts are smaller and lighter.
